The Shot Meter
NBA 2K uses a shot meter to assist with release points. The meter turns green when a shot has a perfect release and red after a bad release.
Learn Player Shot Forms
Every shooting form has its own unique release point. Some players release quickly, while others are more delayed. The more you play with certain players, the better feel you’ll have for their shot timing.
Shot Type Timing
Different types of shots also have their own timing. Layups and floaters have faster releases than jump shots. To turn off the shot meter during layups, access the Controller settings and change “Shot Timing” to “Shots only”.
